Introducing Cultural Heritage Early: CIS Preschool Sidoarjo Celebrates Batik Day with Fun and Educational Activities
SIDOARJO – In celebration of National Batik Day, CIS
Preschool Sidoarjo held a series of engaging and educational activities
designed to introduce Indonesia's rich cultural heritage to young learners.
During the event, students explored various traditional
Indonesian batik patterns, including Bunga Manis (Pekalongan), Parang
(Yogya/Solo), Parang Kembang, Buketan, and Tambal motifs.
Teachers guided the children using real batik fabrics, allowing them to observe
and touch the authentic patterns and textures firsthand.
In addition to learning about batik patterns, students
participated in hands-on creative crafting by stamping batik designs onto paper
using child-safe paints under teacher guidance. Dressed in their colorful batik
outfits, the children eagerly engaged in every session.
Through this Batik Day celebration, CIS Preschool Sidoarjo
aims to instill national pride, foster appreciation for local traditions, and
spark early childhood creativity.
